Details:

Have your managers avoided performance conversations for fear of putting employees on the defense or upsetting them? Do your managers go through the motions of writing performance reviews yet miss key information?

The main culprit for avoiding these conversations: the fear of engaging in difficult and uncomfortable discussions. This workshop offers a proven method for creating non-confrontational feedback. Through a positive intervention approach managers learn a process to turn around mild to even the messiest situations.

Learn how to craft honest yet hearable and sayable feedback messages. The results are a time saving and consistent approach to earlier conversations, improved performance, stronger relationships, increased employee development, and accountability.

Topics:

After Completion of this Action Learning Workshop Participants will have Skills to:
? Understand the brain-based defensive reaction we all have to the outdated constructive criticism approach. Instead, present information in a way that is least likely to upset the feedback receiver.
? Translate seemingly unspeakable issues, such as disruptive behaviors, into effective words.
? Engage in a collaborative conversation, anticipate and manage common reactions to feedback.
? Provide performance feedback to high, mid-level, developing and problem performers.

Tools Participants Will Take Away
? A 9-step process with job aids to diagnose performance effectiveness and craft hearable, sayable messages.
? Creation of at least one real-time performance message.
? Practical skills that can be learned in the session and used the next day.
? The ability to communicate performance feedback which has a greater chance for a "you're right, I do need to work on this" employee response instead of a defensive reaction.
